The much-awaited sports extravaganza IPL 6 kicked off to a colourful start Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata with Bollywood stars sizzling under lights. American rapper Pitbull and superstar Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) stole the thunder with their scintillating performances.

The opening ceremony of the IPL 6 saw the biggest-ever musical melody, which included Rabindra Sangeet, Bollywood dance, songs and rocking performances all around. Apart from SRK, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were the other Bollywood celebrities to enthrall the crowd.
The first match of the IPL 6 will be held tomorrow betwen Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils tomorrow. The grand finale will be held in Kolkata on May 26. In total, nine teams are participating in the IPL.
