Batting first in the final, India produced a record-breaking performance, posting a massive 411 for 9 in 50 overs — one of the highest totals in a U-19 World Cup final. The innings was powered by a sensational knock from young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a breathtaking 175 off just 80 balls, studded with 15 boundaries and 15 towering sixes. His fearless approach and aggressive strokeplay completely shifted the momentum in India’s favour and left the opposition struggling to recover.

India received solid support from the top order, with Ayush Mhatre (53) contributing a steady half-century, ensuring a strong foundation for the massive total. The middle and lower order added quick runs to push the score beyond England’s reach.

Chasing a daunting target, England showed resistance but never looked fully in control. Despite a fighting century from Caleb Falconer (115), the Indian bowlers maintained discipline and struck at regular intervals. RS Ambrish and Kanishk Chouhan played crucial roles with the ball, breaking partnerships and keeping England under pressure. England were eventually bowled out for 311, handing India a comprehensive 100-run victory.

India’s journey to the title was marked by consistent performances throughout the tournament. The batting unit delivered under pressure, while the bowlers produced match-winning spells at key moments. Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerged as one of the standout performers of the tournament with 439 runs with 1 hundred and 3 fifties, while bowlers like Henil Patel and Vihaan Malhotra played pivotal roles in India’s unbeaten run.

This victory once again underlines India’s dominance in junior cricket and the depth of talent being nurtured at the grassroots level. The U-19 World Cup has historically served as a launchpad for future stars, and the 2026 batch appears no different.

As celebrations sweep across the country, this triumph stands as a symbol of promise, discipline, and the bright future of Indian cricket.
