Ahead of Assembly Polls in Gujarat, the State Government announced 50% salary hike of Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers in the State.

Earlier the government has announced salary hike for teachers, municipal employees according to 7th Pay Commission.

In September, the ASHA workers went on protest demanding equal pay and social security benefits.
