In a major development on the auspicious day of Dhanteras, the Crime Branch in Odisha has reaped a gold harvest by recovering gold biscuits and silver coins of Seashore brand from the HDFC bank locker at Nayapalli branch in Bhubaneswar. The gold biscuits and silver coins may account for around Rs 95 lakh.

The Seashore group has been under scanner on charges of money laundering, chit fund fraud and financial irregularities. Its MD Prashant Kumar Das and other directors are either on jail or absconding, while the company’s bank accounts have been frozen.
