A major fire broke out at the Blast Furnace-2 at Bhushan Steel Plant in Dhenkanal, killing many people. While some reports put the death toll at 4-5, other reports have put the death toll at 30-40 and reveal that there has been an attempt to hide the truth by the Bhushan officials.

Some injured have been rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Over 400 people are still trapped inside. The cause of the fire is still not known. However, such incidents are occurring frequently at Bhushan Steel Plant, raising huge question marks on its ability to safeguard the people’s lives.
