Dussehra ‘Vijaya Dashmi’ celebrated across India

TNI Bureau: Dussehra – the festival of Good over Evil, which is also known as Vijaya Dashmi was celebrated across the country today. It also marked the end of Navratri celebrations. In Delhi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi celebrated the “Ravan Dahan” – the burning of effigy of Ravan at the historic Ramlila Ground.

Dussehra was celebrated in all parts of the country, including West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and other areas. The Durga Puja celebrations in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Mysore and Bhopal were the best among the
