TNI Bureau: A political controversy has surfaced in Aska after local residents filed a complaint at Aska Police Station over the alleged renaming of the well-known “Kainphulia Chhak” as “Saroj Padhi Chhak” without official approval.
In their complaint, the residents alleged that the name of the public place was changed without public consent or following proper legal and administrative procedures. They claimed that “Kainphulia Chhak” has been a long-established and widely recognised name in the area.
The complainants accused Saroj Kumar Padhi of allegedly using political influence to pressure local authorities and the Kalasandhapur Gram Panchayat to change the name of the locality. They alleged that the move was made for political glorification and violated due process.
The residents have demanded immediate registration of an FIR and a fair investigation into the matter. They also sought verification of whether any lawful government approval was granted for the renaming and demanded legal action if any irregularities are found. The complainants further urged authorities to restore the original name if the renaming is found to be unauthorized.
The issue has triggered discussion in local political circles, with residents alleging that changing public place names without following due procedure hurts public sentiment and undermines proper governance.
