Congress Protests Deteriorating Law and Order, Gheraos Commissionerate Office

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), under the leadership of Bhakta Charan Das, intensified its attack on the state government over the recent brutal killings in Balipatna and Balianta by staging a protest and gherao of the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police office today.

The protest programme, organised by the Khordha District Congress Committee, witnessed participation from senior Congress leaders and party workers who condemned what they described as the “complete collapse” of law and order in Odisha. Raising slogans against the government and police administration, the protesters demanded immediate accountability and strict action against those responsible for the recent incidents.

Addressing the gathering, PCC President Bhakta Charan Das said the horrifying murders in Balipatna and Balianta have once again exposed the alarming state of public safety in Odisha. He alleged that despite the presence of police personnel, such heinous crimes continue to occur openly, reflecting the failure of both the government and the administration to protect ordinary citizens.

Congress leaders further accused the state administration of negligence and inaction, claiming that people no longer feel secure under the current law enforcement system. The party warned that if the government fails to take immediate and stringent measures against the culprits and ensure justice for the victims, the Congress will intensify its agitation across the state in the coming days.

The protest comes amid growing political outrage over the recent incidents, which have triggered widespread concern regarding policing and public safety in the capital outskirts.
