Congress alleges Poor Healthcare in Nabarangpur

TNI Bureau: Led by Nabarangpur Lok Sabha MP Pradeep Majhi, the Congress cadres gheraoed all 10 block offices and hospitals in Nabarangpur district against the poor healthcare system and demanded the resignation of Health Minister Dr. Damodar Rout.

Congress MP Pradeep Majhi alleged that because of poor healthcare facilities, 33 people died of cholera and diarrhoea in Jharigaon, Umerkote and Chandahandi blocks. He demanded the filling up vacant posts of doctors in the district with immediate effect.

The Congress threatened to launch a hunger strike from September 24 if its demands are not fulfilled. Health Minister Damodar Rout has maintained that only six deaths were attributed to the waterdonpatoe diseases.
