Champions Trophy Hockey: India beat Belgium to reach Semis

TNI Bureau: India defeated Belgium by a solitary goal to reach the semifinals of the Champions Trophy Hockey in Melbourne. India avenged the shocking defeat they suffered
against Belgium at London Olympics 2012.

India took the lead in the 12th minute when Sardar Singh scored the goal on his 150th international appearance. Belgium gave a tough fight, but failed to penetrate into the Indian defence.

Earlier, Pakistan scored a 2-1 upset win over Olympics Gold medalist Germany to reach the semifinals. They will take on the Netherlands, which defeated New Zealand 2-0 in the other quarterfinal.
