TNI Bureau: The government may face fire from the opposition today on the CAG reports on coal, power and aviation, which resulted in a national loss of Rs 1.86 lakh crore to the exchequer.

All three CAG reports were tabled in Rajya Sabha today. Sources said that the loss is much bigger than the 2G scam. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh can be brought under the scanner as the CAG report on coal raises questions on his role. He had allegedly allocated 44 billion tonnes of coal at low prices when he was the Coal minister between the period 2006 and 2009.

The CAG report on Power accused that the government had favoured and benefited the companies like Tata and Reliance power.

Similarly, the report on the privatisation of Delhi airport questions the role of the then Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel, who is accused of favouring GMR to get benefits worth Rs 3,400 crore.

Earlier, the leaked CAG report said that the UPA government had failed to auction 155 coal blocks between 2004 to 2009.
