Bulk SMSes, MMSes banned for 15 Days

Date:

TNI Bureau: The government has banned the bulk SMSes and MMSes for 15 days across the country to check spread of rumours, which fuelled panic amongst the northeast people and led to mass exodus from Bangalore and other cities.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the bulk SMSes and MMSes were banned for 15 days from today. As per the strict rule, more than five SMSes or MMSes from one number cannot be sent.

Earlier, such type of ban had been imposed for 72 hours during the verdict on Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits in 2010.
