After indulging in fraud and cheating, some real estate developers in Bhubaneswar have now gone aggressive to threat and even launch sexual assault on the people. In a latest development, the Managing Director of Arundhati Infratech (P) Limited, Mr. Ashok Sundaray (43), was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a woman inside the office.
While series of rape cases have surfaced in Odisha in the last few days, the latest development, involving a high profile person in the capital city. The builder has cried foul in this matter. But, the police has launched a probe into the incident to ascertain the truth.
According to police sources, the woman had given her hard-earned money to buy a plot. Since she never got that plot, she demanded a refund with due interest. She reportedly visited the Arundhati Infratech many times to get back her money, but in vain. On Sunday, Ashok Sundaray had reportedly asked her to come to a place. When she arrived, he allegedly took her to his office and raped by issuing threats.
The police have launched a case under Section 366, 376, 342 and 506 of the IPC. Ashok was forwarded to the court.
