TNI Bureau: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed serious concern over bomb threats received by district courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack and Deogarh, and has directed senior officials to carry out an immediate and thorough investigation to identify those responsible.
Odisha DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania advised public not to panic and to cooperate with the police by following advisories and reporting any suspicious activity to help the investigation.
CM Mohan Majhi held discussions with the Chief Secretary Anu Garg, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, and the DGP. He instructed them to verify the authenticity of the threats.
It is pertinent to mention here that police initiated action after anonymous emails threatening damage to court premises were received at several courts. Taking cognisance of the matter, authorities intensified security arrangements and launched a detailed probe to verify the authenticity of the threats.
As a precautionary measure, police checking has been stepped up and security has been significantly enhanced at all concerned court locations. The situation is being closely monitored to ensure the safety of judges, lawyers, court staff and the general public.
The Chief Minister has emphasised that public safety cannot be compromised and instructed officials to deal with the matter with utmost seriousness.
