In a repetition of its spectacular performance in the ULB polls across Odisha, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won the Phulbani Municipality and G. Udayagiri NAC with a massive majority.

The BJD won 9 out of 13 wards in Phulbani, while the Congress managed to win just two wards. Independents won in two wards. The BJP failed to open its account.
In G. Udayagiri, BJD won 10 out of 13 wards, leaving just two to the Congress. One ward went to the Independent, while BJP drew a blank here. The BJD has welcomed the results, saying it is the mandate for Chief Minister’s strong leadership.
