BJD gears up for ‘Swabhiman Samabesh’ in Delhi

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is all set to hold a grand ‘Swabhiman Samabesh’ at Ramlila Maidan at 9 PM tomorrow to demand a Special Category Status to Odisha. Over 30,000 people from Odisha, Delhi and NCR are going to participate in the Samabesh or rally.

Naveen_PatnaikBJD President and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address the huge gathering. All Ministers of his Cabinet left for Delhi by air yesterday, while the MLAs and other senior leaders and cadres went by train. At least seven trains were booked for the BJD leaders and workers.

The trains that carried the BJP cadres, took off from Puri, Cuttack, Jajpur Road, Rourkela, Sundargarh, Koraput and Berhampur. Each train had one AC coach each where the MLAs and senior leaders travelled. Hundreds of women cadres too left for Delhi to boost the rally. The trains will start the return journey at 9:30 PM on June 12.

Many other BJD leaders are leaving for Delhi today by air. The entire political leadership of the BJD will press the demand for a special status for Odisha and present the 1,50,00000 signatures collected through the signature campaign launched by the party.

After arriving in New Delhi, Naveen Patnaik seek to create a big buzz by commenting on the latest development in the BJP. He talked about maintaining equidistance from the Congress and BJP and also pitched for a Third Front government at the centre, while ruling himself out of the PM’s race. Naveen also rejected Narendra Modi, he won’t be acceptable to the minorities. At the same time, he rejected Rahul Gandhi too, saying he was too immature and inexperienced to lead the country.
