TNI Bureau: The Biju Janata Dal has announced a reshuffle in its parliamentary leadership in the Rajya Sabha following the recently concluded biennial elections and the retirement of some of its Members of Parliament.
In an official communication addressed to the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, BJD President Naveen Patnaik informed that senior party leader Manas Ranjan Mangaraj has been appointed as the Leader of the BJD Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha. He will replace Dr. Sasmit Patra who recently resigned from the post.
Additionally, Sulata Deo has been designated as the Deputy Leader and Chief Whip of the party in the Upper House.
The appointments have been made with immediate effect, aiming to strengthen the party’s coordination and legislative strategy in Parliament. The letter also requested formal recognition of the newly appointed leaders by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
