Bitti Mohanty, who is charged with impersonation, cheating and forgery, will undergo DNA test following the court order. A session court in Kannur has ordered the test on the rape convict on Friday after his arrest in March.

Bitti had been on the run for several years by jumping bail following his conviction for raping a Ferman woman at Alwar in Jaipur. Earlier, a magistrate court at Payannur had rejected the plea for the DNA test on the convict.

However, Additional Sessions Judge KV Jayakumar heard on the plea of Kerala police that sought permission for the test to obtain scientific proof for establishing his identity.

Bitti, son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohnaty, had been living in Kunnur as Raghav Rajan. He was doing a job in a bank hiding his true identity. Later, he was arrested on March 9 by Kerala police.

Biti was sent to Odisha where his father was asked to identify him.
