Prakash Jha’s web series ‘Aashram’ starring Bobby Deol gets slammed on Twitter. Netizens demand the ban of the web series with a trend #BanAashramWebseries. Twitter users say that the series is showing Hindu Saints in a bad light. Some have also alleged the director and cast to run a vendetta against Hindus.
Aashram is a Hindi language drama directed and produced by Prakash Jha. Bobby Deol is playing the lead in the series. He can be seen playing a dark character. The story revolves around a self-styled Goodman who is maintaining a very good image in public but the reality is nowhere around what he shows. The character played by Bobby Deol shows how a saint takes advantage of people’s belief in him and has destroyed many lives. He has two faces that are completely different from each other. On one side, he is helping people to get education, medical assistance, and has won people’s faith completely. While on the other hand, he uses everyone for political gains, financial gains, and molests women after giving them drugs.
The drama is already released partially and is streaming on MX Player. Two chapters of drama are already out and the other parts are likely to be released very soon. But looks like this time it’s not going to be a smooth path for the Aashram Team as people are already objecting to the series and demanding its ban.

People have accused the makers of hurting sentiments of a certain section of society. This is not the first time people called for the ban of the series. Earlier also, a group of social media users demanded the ban of the web series. And they are now again been trying to get this series banned.
The matter is now not only limited to social media. A Jodhpur local Kush Khandelwal has dragged the actor and producer to court for hurting Hindus. He has filed a petition in Jodhpur Court against the web series. The court has accepted the plea and issued legal notices to the actor Bobby Deol and Producer Prakash Jha. The hearing of the case is now scheduled for January 11.
The whole matter has become huge and has taken a legal turn now. Karni Sena also objected to the web series and sent a legal notice to the team before.
