Azlan Shah Cup Hockey: India lose to Britain

TNI Bureau: India’s nightmare against Britain continued, as they lost to the British team 2-3 in a thriller in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey. This is India’s third consecutive loss against Britain in less than a month.

Britain was leading 2-0 at the half-time with goals from Glenn Kirkham and Ben Hawes. VR Raghunath (55th) and SV Sunil (59th) scored twice in the second half to make it 2-2. However, Nick Catlin scored in the death to power his team to a 3-2 victory.

India got two chances in the dying moments, but Sandeep Singh failed to convert both penalty corners, resulting in the loss. India were beaten by New Zealand 1-5 in the first match. But, they won 2-1 against South Korea.

In another match, New Zealand registered their third consecutive victory in the tournament, as they beat Pakistan 3-1. They are on the top of the points table now.
