Axis Bank Accounts of Mumbai Cops Hacked

After getting the rebuke from the RBI and paying a Rs 5 crore penalty for KYC violations, the Axis Bank has landed in another trouble amidst reports of hacking of salary accounts of several Mumbai police officers.

Axis-BankMoney was reportedly withdrawn from Axis Bank accounts of at least 14 policemen from ATM machines in Greece. The money was taken away in Euros. Also, some money was deducted from their accounts online.

The Mumbai Police suspect that the debit cards of these policemen were cloned. An FIR will be filed in this regard. Role of some “unnamed” Axis Bank employees could be under the scanner. The Axis Bank has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a report as soon as possible.
