TNI Bureau:  From the Driver’s seat on Day 2, Team India slumped to a humiliating 8-wicket loss in Adelaide Test, thanks to a dramatic collapse in the second innings.

India recorded their lowest-ever Test score of 36/9 today. India’s previous lowest Test innings score was 42 against England at Lord’s in June 1974 – 46 years ago.

No Indian batsman could reach the double digit score. Mayank Agarwal was the top scorer at 9. Pujara, Rahane and Ashwin failed to open their account.

Cricket scores

For Australia, Hazlewood took 5 wickets by giving away just 8 runs in 5 overs. Pat Cummins took 4 wickets.

Australia had dlno difficulty to chase down the meagre victory target of 90. They won the match by losing just two wickets.

Matthew Wade scored 33, while Joe Burns remained unbeaten on 51. Australia reached 93/2 in 21 overs. India had taken 21.2 overs to score 36/9 in the second innings.
