TNI Bureau: After getting huge success by gunning down five Maoists belonging to Sabyasachi Panda’s group in Mohana area of Gajapati district, the Odisha Police has now targeted Kandhamal and Koraput districts in a bid to flush out the ultras.

The police a big operation in Bandhugaon area yesterday. However, the Maoists fled the spot just before the security personnel arrived on the spot. At least 10 hardcore Maoists had escaped, while the police recovered several tiffin bombs and gelatin.

In another development, the security personnel have launched a massive onslaught in Kandhamal area. Several Maoist camps were busted in Kotagarh, Daringbadi and Brahmanigaon. The police have recovered several powerful landmines and detonators.

According to latest reports, Sabyasachi Panda’s close aide Pradeep was seriously injured in Tuesday’s encounter. Two other commanders were reportedly hurt. The police have launched a massive manhunt to trace them.
