Tamil Nadu Gas Leak: Odia Worker Death Toll Reaches 9

TNI Bureau: The death toll of Odia workers in the ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing factory in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district has risen to 9, with Rita Juanga of Tangiri Dubanali sahi under Telkoi block in Kendujhar district succumbing to injuries during treatment.

Earlier, Subasini Juanga and Jamuni Juanga had also died. The other victims have been identified as Gumani Juanga, Geeta Juanga, Champabati Juanga and Shibani Juanga, all from Kendujhar district. Another deceased worker is suspected to be Phulomani Juanga from Odisha.

The ammonia leak occurred on Sunday at a private seafood processing and export unit in Kannigaipair village near Periyapalayam. According to official figures, 64 workers were affected in the incident, and several remain under treatment.
