AMNL had acquired a 50.50% stake in IANS in December 2023 and increased its holding to 76% voting rights and nearly all non-voting shares in January 2024. Under the latest agreement, AMNL will acquire the remaining 24% voting shares and 0.74% non-voting shares, making IANS a wholly owned subsidiary.

IANS is a leading multi-language news agency supplying content to print, digital and broadcast platforms across India.

The move further strengthens Adani Group’s media presence, following earlier acquisitions including stakes in BQ Prime and a controlling interest in NDTV, as part of its broader diversification into the media and content sector.
