TNI Bureau: South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, who was arrested after his girlfriend model Reeva Steenkamp was found shot dead at his home, was officially charged with Murder.

The athlete is now appearing in court to face a murder charge. He reportedly cried in the court room. He held his head in his hands after the murder charge was formally read out in the magistrate court.

South African report said that he shot his girlfriend four times through a bathroom door at his Pretoria home.

The 26-year-old  track star had stunned the world yesterday after he was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day. The Blade Runner, who had dared to compete with able-bodied athletes at the highest levels of sport, is now standing inside the court as an accused.

The court will decide whether he will be granted bail.
