BJD announces Presidents for all Districts

TNI Bureau: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has announced its list of District Presidents yesterday, saying they all were elected unopposed. While 21 Presidents have been retained, 11 were replaced with new people. 5 Ministers, 6 MPs and 8 MLAs have been entrusted with the task of District Presidents of BJD.

However, the selection of Rayagada BJD President has raised a revolt of banner within the party cadres in the district. Koraput MP Jayaram Pangi and Gunupur MLA Ramamurty Mutika have opposed the appointment of Sudhir Das as the BJD President of Rayagada district. They wondered why a candidate from general category was given the important portfolio in tribal-dominated Rayagada. They also alleged that Sudhir Das has many criminal cases pending against him.
