TNI Bureau: Another accused in the gangrape of the 23-year-old para-medical student was detained in late night raid in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. He was absconding after the incident. The Delhi police will file a status report of the case in the High Court today.
After entire country showed outrage against the heinous act, even women MPs demanded strong punishment for the culprits; the police were conducting raids in Haryana and Bihar to trace the accused. He is the fifth accused, who was absconding. Earlier, four were arrested and one was detained in Bihar.
The victim is battling for her life at Safdarjung Hospital. Her condition is still critical. She was put on ventilator. She was gangraped by six people in a moving bus in Delhi on Sunday night.
