43,377 Villages in Odisha have No Post Office

TNI Bureau: As per the government release, over 5,00,327 villages across the country do not have post offices. Out of these, 43,377 are in Odisha. Uttar Pradesh tops the dubious list with 86,435 post offices.

In Madhya Pradesh, 44,969 villages have no post offices. At least 30,950 villages in West Bengal and 30,679 villages in Bihar do not have access to postal services. Over 1.5 lakh post offices exist in India now. In 2012-13, 80 more post offices and 50 sub-post offices will be opened in the country.
