TNI Bureau: Asian Games Gold medalist Pinki Pramanik got a severe jolt in the bid to fight against the administration, as the medical reports confirmed that she is a male. Pinki had been competing in sports as a female.

The police in Barasat filed a chargesheet against her on several counts of rape, cheating and holding out threats. The chargesheet was filed on the basis of Pinki’s former live-in partner Anamika Acharya, who accused the athlete of raping her.

Pinki was arrested on June 14, but later released on bail. Initially, the gender test was done at two hospitals in Barasat. However, due to lack of facilities, it was referred to SSKM hospital and then to Hyderabad.
