Date:

TNI Bureau: Incessant rains have disrupted the normal life across Odisha over the last three days. Even as the Cyclone Nilam has weakened after causing some damage in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry, heavy rains have lashed out the southern states as well as Odisha.

Heavy rains were reported from Koraput, Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Phulbani, Balangir, Khordha, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak and many other parts of the state. Gopalpur, Berhampur, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Jeypore and Cuttack have recorded maximum rainfall.

The rain has damaged paddy crop in coastal Odisha, which has become a big concern for the farmers as well as the common people. The situation could prevail for another 24 hours or so.
