PV Sindhu creates History, becomes first Indian to win BWF World Championships Gold

TNI Bureau:  PV Sinhu scripted history by winning India’s first-ever Gold in World Championships.  Sindhu defeated Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in straight games 21-7, 21-7 in just 36 minutes in Basel, Switzerland today.

The World No. 5 is now the first Indian shuttler to win a gold at BWF World Championships.  Sindhu completely took control of the match from the opening game.

is was for the first time in World Championships history that India’s National anthem has played at the podium.
