Bhubaneswar: Even though the BJP and Left workers are not seen anywhere near the busy Rasulgarh, Vani Vihar Acharya Vihar, Jayadev Vihar and Nalco Square till 8:30 AM today, the ‘Bharat Bandh’ has been successful in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and other parts of the state, excluding Western Odisha.

All buses and auto rickshaws have stayed off the road, extending support to the bandh, which was called to protest the diesel price hike and FDI in retail. Even the shop owners and other retailers are supporting the ‘Bharat Bandh’ in Odisha.

The BJP workers have stopped many trains, including Jana Shatabdi Express at Bhubaneswar Railway station. Many people, who have come from distant places, have alleged inconvenience. The BJD is not supporting the bandh due to Nuakhai celebrations. Even the BJP and Left parties have excluded Western Odisha from Bharat Bandh.
