Patasani chairs Airports Advisory Committee meeting at BPIA-Bhubaneswar

PatasaniAirports Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sh Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Govt of Odisha on Friday, in the conference hall of New Domestic Terminal Building (T1) at B.P.I.Airport, Bhubaneswar.

The meeting is attended by the ex-officio members comprising the representatives from various departments like Orissa Tourism, IPICOL, CISF, Air India, Indigo, Go Air, Vistara, Dist Collectorate, HRAO, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and the prominent citizens from social/ cultural/ welfare group.

Sh. Sharad Kumar Airport Director welcomed the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Hon’ble Minister and other members of the Airport Advisory Committee with flower bouquets. Airport Director made a presentation regarding the present Airport Traffic, Passenger facilitation, various development works and passenger facilities under planning.

Various other issues relating to the handling of congestion at the airport including issues related to airport functioning. During the deliberations it was also requested by the Committee that Airlines has to explore for connectivity to the new destinations and direct International Flights from Bhubaneswar connecting Buddhist Tourist Destinations. Sh Ashok Panda, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Govt of Odisha briefed that the proposal is already being discussed with various Airlines.

Chairman, AAC informed that matter will be pursued with MOCA and Airlines. Shri T.R. Ray, Station Manager (Air India) also made a presentation about Air India. Other issues like Airport Security, traffic congestion are discussed in detail and Airport Director welcome various suggestions received from the members to enhance the airport image in terms of services and passengers facilities.
