1) Odisha had sought Rs 3,160 crore in the Railway Budget, but received Rs 1424.98 crore. The allocation is much higher as compared to 2013-14, when Odisha had received just Rs 868.83 crore against the demand of Rs 3,050 crore.
2) Odisha Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of a world class Convention-cum-Trade Zone (CTZ) at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. The project would be implemented in three years at a project cost of Rs 300 crore. A 1.7 km sky-walk would connect the CTZ to all the nearby hotels and the WTC.
3) The Chief Minister of Odisha has announced the commencement of operations of World Trade Center (WTC) in Bhubaneswar.
4) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) centre has announced its plan to install two automatic rain gauge (ARG) stations in Malkangiri and Koraput district of Odisha.
