The brutal attack on Linkan Subudhi, a female social activist from New Delhi for opposing child marriage, has triggered a massive outrage in the National Capital Region (NCR) and her home state Odisha. Linkan, an IT Professional has been admitted to Kailash Hospital in Noida in a critical condition.

Linkan, who has been working with AID India in Greater Noida as a Project Coordinator, had gone rescue an 11-year-old minor girl, who was being forcibly married against her wishes. The girl’s mother and her would-be husband attacked her with a knife and rod.
Linkan received 25 stitches on her head. The woman, who attacked her, was arrested. The other accused is still absconding.
