Sarala Realcon MD Gayadhar Jena Arrested for Land Fraud

Yet another case of land fraud came to light, as the Sahid Nagar police arrested Mr. Gayadhar Jena, the Managing Director of Sarala Realcon Pvt. Ltd. for alleged land fraud. The arrest took place on the complaint of a person, who accused Sarala Realcon of duping him of Rs 8 lakh.

Sarala-RealconAccording to Mr. Manoranjan Pattnaik of Kalinga Vihar, he had purchased a 2,000 sq. ft. land at Sarala Nagar Phase-I in Pandra near Hanspal. He had given Rs 8 lakh towards the land, which he never got. After running from pillar to post to get the land or refund, he finally approached the police and filed an FIR against the builder.

The Sahid Nagar police arrested Gayadhar Jena, who is also the Vice Chairman of OBC Cell of the Congress Party in Odisha. He was later produced in the court. Mr. Jena was sent to Jharpada Jail after his bail plea was rejected. The police have asked all people, who were duped by Sarala Realcon, to approach them immediately. The police are also investigating the source of funds to recently released movie, “Chauka Chhaka”, which was produced by Gayadhar Jena’s Sarala Movies.

Gayadhar Jena’s Sarala Realcom is a multi-crore real estate company, which runs at least 11-12 projects across Bhubaneswar. Their most important projects are located at Pandara, Jharpada, Balianta, Satyabhamapur, Khordha etc. According to some customers, Sarala Realcon either give the land or refund the money, but they admitted the long delay in processing and implementation.

According to an official with Sarala Realcon, the last couple of years were very difficult for the company, as they failed to deliver the plots on time. However, things have improved now and we have given hundreds of registration in the last three to four months, he said.
