TNI Bureau: Following reports of donation fraud at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has launched an investigation into similar claims made about offerings at Badrinath Dham.
BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi said on Friday that the committee is treating the viral social media accusations seriously. To address them, an inquiry panel has been constituted to examine the matter in detail.
Dwivedi added that concerned staff members have also been asked to submit their explanations as part of the probe.
An outfit named Bhairav Sena raised questions about financial irregularities at Badrinath Dham. The group further demanded a transparent investigation into claims of fund misuse allegedly involving an associate of the Temple Committee Chairman.
Refuting parts of the online narrative, Dwivedi clarified that the employee being named as his “personal secretary” does not hold that position.
He stated that the individual is a regular government employee with BKTC and has previously worked as a personal assistant to three former chairmen of the committee.
BKTC said it is committed to ensuring transparency and that further steps will be taken based on the inquiry committee’s findings.
