TNI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday took a strong stance over reported errors in state school textbooks and directed immediate corrective measures, along with strict action against those responsible.
A high-level three-member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner to examine the issue and identify the officer or institution responsible for the errors in the textbooks.
The CM issued the direction during a review meeting held at Lok Seva Bhavan. The meeting was attended virtually by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior departmental officials.
The Chief Minister instructed that the committee submit its report within seven days. He also directed that corrective steps be taken immediately to rectify the errors in the textbooks.
Based on the committee’s findings, strict action will be taken against the responsible officials or institutions, the Chief Minister said.
