TNI Bureau: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has constituted a high-level delegation to visit Chacharaguda village in Nabarangpur district following the brutal rape and murder of a young tribal woman. The move was approved by BJD President Naveen Patnaik, who expressed deep concern over the shocking incident and the prevailing law-and-order situation in the area.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party noted that the crime occurred under the jurisdiction of Kodinga Police Station. BJD alleged that the main accused are yet to be arrested, raising serious questions about the pace of the investigation and the administration’s response.
The delegation will visit the bereaved family to convey the party’s support, interact with local residents to understand the ground reality, and meet the Superintendent of Police to press for swift justice and the immediate arrest of all those involved in the crime.
The team comprises senior party leaders, including MLA and Nabarangpur District BJD President Manohar Randhari, former MPs Ramesh Chandra Majhi and Pradeep Majhi, former MLA Sadasiv Pradhani, and several other party representatives from the district.
Reiterating its commitment to the safety and dignity of women, particularly those from tribal communities, the BJD said it stands firmly with the victim’s family during this difficult time. The delegation has also been tasked with assessing the situation on the ground and submitting a detailed report to BJD President Naveen Patnaik at the earliest.
