Two Years of Governance: Odisha Sets Course for ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036

TNI Bureau: Marking two years of the BJP-led “People’s Government” in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the state has prepared a clear roadmap for achieving the vision of “Samruddha Odisha” by 2036 and has already begun making significant progress towards that goal.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister said the government has launched 121 new schemes, programmes and initiatives over the past two years. He highlighted key achievements including the implementation of Subhadra Yojana with assistance of over Rs 20,600 crore, the launch of Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, rollout of Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, and major investments in agriculture, education and healthcare.

CM said the state has secured investment proposals worth Rs 20 lakh crore through investors’ summits and roadshows, while also introducing dedicated policies for sectors such as semiconductors, electronics and artificial intelligence. The government has also invested nearly Rs 17,000 crore in roads, bridges and railway overbridges across the state.

Among other achievements, he cited irrigation targets covering 15 lakh hectares, reservation for SEBC students, expansion of drinking water and electricity connectivity, tourism infrastructure projects, and support for tribal students through various welfare schemes.

The Chief Minister also noted that Odisha received international recognition for its disaster management efforts and has been chosen to host the World Indoor Athletics Championships and Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in 2028.

Expressing confidence in the state’s future, Majhi said the blessings of Lord Jagannath would guide Odisha in achieving the goal of becoming a prosperous state by 2036.
