TNI Bureau: Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee finds herself on a clear back foot, as more and more MPs, MLAs and party leaders have raised the banner of revolt against his nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who is blamed for TMC’s humiliating defeat and unpopularity in West Bengal.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, who always stood rock solid behind Mamata, has issued an ultimatum, asking her to choose between him and Abhishek. “It’s impossible to work with Abhishek’, he said. He criticised Abhishek Banerjee’s attitude, calling it destructive for Trinamool Congress’ unity.
“Mamata di has to decide first. If she cannot move the party forward without Abhishek, then I will not be there,” he made it clear. He accused Abhishek of humiliating him, saying he won’t appear for him in any case in future.
