TNI Bureau: In Budget 2026, the Central Government announced a significant initiative aimed at strengthening women’s economic empowerment through the launch of the She MARTS Scheme. Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman underlined the government’s commitment to making women self-reliant and encouraging entrepreneurship across the country.
The She MARTS initiative is designed to support women in starting new small and medium enterprises or expanding their existing businesses. Under the scheme, women entrepreneurs will be provided access to loans at low interest rates, addressing one of the biggest hurdles they face—lack of capital. The scheme is expected to benefit women in both rural and urban areas, particularly those who were unable to scale up their ventures due to financial constraints.
The government believes that greater economic participation by women will not only raise household incomes but also contribute to overall national growth. The She MARTS scheme is seen as especially beneficial for self-help groups (SHGs), women-led startups, and micro-enterprise.
Experts note that effective implementation of this initiative could generate large-scale employment for women and significantly advance the vision of a self-reliant India.
