Kendrapada Collector orders Probe into Attack on Rajanagar Woman BDO by BJP Leader

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Kendrapada district administration has ordered an inquiry into the alleged abuse and attempted attack on Rajnagar Block Development Officer (BDO) Tilottama Prusty inside her office.

Official sources said the District Collector directed an investigation after receiving a complaint from the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Association. The administration has stated that appropriate action will be taken against those found responsible.

Following the incident, BDO Prusty has reportedly gone on leave. Police confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the matter based on a complaint filed on behalf of the Rajnagar Block Chairperson.

The incident came to public attention after a video of the altercation went viral on social media. The footage allegedly shows a group of people inside the BDO’s office, reportedly led by local BJP leader Lalit Behera. In the video, one individual is seen attempting to lift and throw a laptop during a heated exchange.

According to available information, the incident was triggered by a dispute over the clearance of bills and the sanctioning of development works. Around noon, a local leader along with over 30 supporters allegedly entered the BDO’s chamber and pressured her to clear certain bills and approve development projects.

The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the office. The district OAS Association strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against those involved.
