Rajasthan Royals player Ankeet Chavan, who was arrested yesterday, reportedly broke down in custody and confessed to his involvement in spot-fixing in Indian Premier League 6 (IPL) matches.
Chavan admitted that he committed crime by indulging in the spot-fixing. He broke down before police during the second round of interrogation on Friday morning. He reportedly said that his cricket career was finished.
The player revealed that he was reluctant to be involved in the fixing, but he was forced by others and the bookies lured him with high price.

Ajit Chandila, another Rajasthan Royals player, who has been also arrested along with Chavan and S Sreesanth for spot-fixing, reportedly asked Chavan to indulge in the fixing. Chandila reportedly acted as a middleman. He also took money from the bookies to pay Chavan.
Meanwhile, the BCCI dismissed the cricketer-turned-bookie Amit Singh, one of the bookies arrested along with RR players by Delhi police on Thursday. The cricket board has called an emergency meeting of its working committee on Sunday to discuss the further action against all the players involved in the fixing. The board will also discuss the spot-fixing controversy that returned to Indian cricket.
The spot-fixing took place in three Rajasthan Royals matches against Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors and Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL season 6.
