IPL 2013: Hyderabad beat Punjab by 30 Runs

Date:

Hyderabad played a smart game this evening beating Punjab by 30 runs at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. Now there will be tough competition between Hyderabad and Bangalore as the Punjab are almost on their way out with this loss.

Punjab won the toss but elected to field first. It was a good start from Hyderabad team, which showed a never-say-die attitude. Parthiv Patel (61 off 45) and Thisara Perera (32 off 19) did well, while Darren Sammy (4/22) starred with the ball to help Hyderabad to a comfortable 30 run win against Punjab. The team scored 150/7 (20.0 Ovs).

Chasing the target, Punjab fought hard. Except three (Adam Gilchrist, Luke Pomersbach, Rajagopal Sathish) not a single player could be able to collect good score. The team scored 120 losing 9 wickets.

Parthiv Patel was the MoM for his 61. This was Punjab’s last game at this venue and remaining two home games will be played in Dharamsala.
