Sun rises for Hyderbad, beat Pune in IPL 6
The Hyderabad Sunrisers had scored a much-needed victory in the IPL 6 last night, as they defeated Pune Warriors India by 22 runs in their first IPL encounter after the change of ownership. It was the battle of two Sri Lankan captains, but Sangakkara had the last laugh.
Pune Warriors had won the toss and elected to field first. Hyderabad scored 126/6 in 20 overs. Akshath Reddy (27) and Thisara Perera (30) were the top scorers. Ashok Dinda took two wickets.
Pune Warriors never looked solid on this wicket even if they had to chase just 127 to win. They bowled out for 104 in 18.5 overs and lost the match by 22 runs. Uthappa was the top scorer with 24. Dale Steyn and Amit Mishra took three wickets, while Thisara Perera took two wickets. Amit Mishra was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
