14 more tested positive for new Coronavirus Strain in India

TNI Bureau:  The total number of people testing positive for the new UK variant genome of Sars-CoV-2 virus has reached 20 after 14 more tested positive for the new Coronavirus Strain, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Wednesday.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the Health Ministry had announced that six UK returnees had tested positive for the variant.

The Ministry said the mutated UK strain was detected in 8 samples at the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Delhi, 1 at the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani (near Kolkata), 1 at the National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune, 7 at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences Hospital (NIMHANS) Bengaluru, 2 at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad and 1 at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi.

Worth mentioning that United Kingdom recorded its highest number of 50,000 coronavirus cases overnight for the first time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the World.
