No Odia Music lover can forget the immortal song ‘Mayuri go Tuma Akashe Mu Dine Malhare Megha Sajili‘…The Legend who gave music to the song and convinced Legendary Mohammed Rafi to sing it, is no more. Renowned Music Composer-Director Shantanu Mohapatra passed away at 84.

He was suffering from acute pneumonia and kidney related ailments. A Geophysicist by profession (IIT-Kharagpur passout), he served Odia Cinema for over 60 years. He was the first person to bring eminent singers like Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and many others to Odia Films.
His contribution to Odia Music will be remembered forever.
