Dashing all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has made a great comeback to the Indian Team for the upcoming series against Australia. India will play seven ODIs and a T20 against Australia to be held later this year. Yuvraj last played an ODI on January 27 against England.
Yuvraj, who had beaten cancer to stage a comeback, did well initially, but was dropped from the team due to poor form and fitness. He worked hard to do well in List A matches and Challenger Trophy. He scored 123, 40 and 61 against the West Indies A and then scored an 84 against India Red while playing for India Blue in Challenger Trophy.
Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh failed to impress the selectors. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the squad. Murali Vijay, Umesh Yadav and Irfan Pathan were the notable omissions. Ambati Rayudu has got the nod, while Jaydev Unadkat and Shami Ahmed found a place in the team.
Team India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Amit Mishra, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat.
